Calusa Veterinary Center Policies
We are committed to providing the highest quality of veterinary care for your pet. You can help by adhering to and understanding some of our basic hospital policies.
Appointment Policy
We strongly advise calling ahead for appointments during regular business hours. This helps ensure that we can provide the best possible care for your pet in a timely manner. We understand that sometimes emergencies happen and will do our best to accommodate you and your pet. Remember - we are a 24/7 veterinary hospital, and no appointment is required for emergency situations.
If you are unable to make your appointment time, and do not cancel within 24 hours, a cancellation fee may be charged. This policy ensures that we can accommodate other pets in need of care and maintain an efficient schedule.
Waiting Room Policy
When you arrive with your pet or while you're waiting for your appointment in our waiting room, please follow some general guidelines and safety recommendations. This will help ensure that your pet's visit is as safe and enjoyable as possible.
- We are a Fear Free facility that practices safe handling techniques to ensure your pet has a stress-free experience. We have dedicated dog and cat waiting rooms, to reduce anxiety for your pet.
- We are also a Cat Friendly practice, meaning our staff is trained in various calm handling techniques and we've taken steps to reduce stress specifically for cats.
Calusa Veterinary Center takes the safety of all our patients seriously. To help keep everyone safe, we ask that you please follow these guidelines:
- All dogs must be on a leash and under the control of an adult at all times.
- All cats must be in a carrier or held by an adult at all times.
- Please do not bring food or toys into the waiting room unless absolutely necessary.
Payment Policy
For payment, we accept debit or credit card, and CareCredit®. We also accept the majority of major pet insurance providers.
Pet insurance is a way to help defer the costs associated with unexpected or emergency veterinary care. There are many different types and levels of pet insurance coverage available, so we encourage you to do your research to find the plan that best suits your needs and budget.

We Accept The CareCredit Credit Card
A way to help ease cost concerns.
That’s why we’re pleased to accept CareCredit, the pet, health and wellness credit card with flexible, budget-friendly financing options that allow you to pay over time for a range of treatments and services.* CareCredit can help you say "yes" to the treatments for your pet needs, and pay for it over time with monthly payments that help fit into your budget.
You can use your CareCredit card over and over for all your pet’s follow-up care as well as annual exams and vaccines. So you can focus on what really matters, like playing fetch and learning new tricks.
* Subject to credit approval.
