Dr. Cindy Krane is a compassionate veterinarian with a wealth of experience in small animal medicine. She graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts degree before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University. During her studies, she completed externships at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland and the National Zoological Park in Washington DC.

After practicing for several years in the Virginia and Maryland areas she and her family moved to South Florida where she soon ensconced herself as a dedicated and devoted member of the Calusa family. During the ensuing years she has developed a loyal and loving clientele, who depend upon her knowledge and compassion. After 17 years with Calusa she has recently become a partner in the practice and continues to provide exceptional care to her patients. Dr. Krane's dedication to her craft, her commitment to her patients and her unwavering compassion for animals make her a valued member of the Calusa team.

In addition to her professional work, Dr. Krane has spent the last decade as an active and valued volunteer at the South Florida Wildlife Center. During that time she has rehabilitated and released hundreds of orphaned squirrels and opossums, several of whom have continued to live on her property and return regularly to visit and receive nourishment and treats.

Dr. Krane is a certified Fear- Free practitioner and a proud member of the Feline Veterinary Medical Association (FelineVMA). She serves as an advocate for cat friendly practices.

A resident of Boca Raton, Dr. Krane and her husband enjoy their daughter who is a PHD candidate in psychology and their son who is working on his masters degree in real estate. They are pet parents to two dogs (a Chihuahua and a Greyhound) and five cats, three of which are hairless.
