Dr. Anthony Krawitz

DVM, CVH

Dr. Anthony Krawitz graduated from the University of Pretoria, Onderstepoort South Africa, in 1983 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science Degree. He worked in several multiple-doctor practices before building his own Veterinary hospital in South Africa. Doctor Krawitz earned his Florida license in 1986, and moved to Florida, USA in 1993 where he joined Calusa Animal Hospital becoming a partner in 1995. In 2000, Dr Krawitz and his family proudly became United States citizens.

Together with Dr. Turkell, they realized their dream and built Calusa Veterinary Center a state-of-the-art facility which opened its doors in September 2006. Dr. Krawitz has broad experience in all aspects of veterinary medicine, including internal medicine and general surgery. Dr Krawitz has a special interest in ultrasound and for many years has helped patients by performing abdominal ultrasounds at CVC.

Dr. Krawitz is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association, The American Animal Hospital Association, and the Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy.

Dr. Krawitz became interested in homeopathy as an alternative way of practicing medicine, which led him to study veterinary homeopathy. In 1997, he became a certified veterinary homeopath after completing the professional course in veterinary homeopathy given by Dr. Richard Pitcairn, founder of the Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy.

Dr. Krawitz lives in Delray Beach with his wife Jeanette, their 10-year-old cat "Sweet Boy", and 30+ year-old Cockatiel, Petey. Dr. Krawitz is a sports fanatic and is an avid Miami Dolphins fan. His interests include astronomy, space travel, the universe, and being a handyman.
